I was very struck by Nathalie's composure, I really respect her for keeping it simple and straight. She is a very together, no bullshit professional, clearly. Her speech made me realize that we need more actors to talk about their work as work and not guild it with glamor or the whole "wishes do come true" thing. Maybe they do, but they take work. It is work, it's what they do every day and they have lives separate from it. The best actor and actress this year DID A SHIT TON OF WORK ON THOSE ROLES.
Also, as much as I want to like Anne Hathaway (I try not to dislike a certain actor because it's fashionable to do so, I root for the underdog) she just reminds me of me when I try way to hard to impress everyone and get everyone to like me. She leaves me with a sour feeling in my mouth like I've tasted a lemon. I just don't believe her. Which is why I think I liked her in Rachel Getting Married because it was the first time I didn't cringe for the majority of the time she was onscreen. She is obviously very talented, but I just want her to relax a little!!
And of course, Mr. Darcy is just so HUMAN. An absolute delight and clearly deserves that little gold man. He is what I think an actor should be, very humble, human. I trust him in everything he does onscreen and off.
Lastly, I totally saved a picture of Mila Kunis' Oscar dress when I first saw a photo of it in Fashion Week. I said to myself I betcha someone's pegged this one and sure enough...I'm happy she pulled it off so well though!
